Anorexia or Healthy ?

Last night was the Victoria's Secret Fashion show. Everyone always gets hyped up fhe pretty girls with their amazing bodies. However, I do not believe it is attractive at all. I think these girls are on the line of anorexia. I read in  magazine that the week before this show, all the girls starve themselves so they have the perfect appearance for the show. This cannot be healthy for them. Even though they are that skinny, it does not mean that they are healthy. Whats your opinion?

No Motivation

Last week, our 352 class was at New Castle High School for field experience. I got there a little earlier before 2nd period started, so I was standing around with classmates. One of them asked a 7th grade girl " what do you wanna be when you grow up"? The student replied " I want to be a bum". I was so confused at her answer, and thought to myself, why would anyone want to be that. As a future physical educator, that really made me think about the importance of motivating young children to develop positive minds and healthy futures.

Drumming Stability Balls

When i attended convention a few week ago, I got to experience a new item that is being put into physical education classrooms. It is using stability balls and using them as a drum. Using drum sticks, students are finding that integrating music into the physical education setting is becoming more popular and fun. I got to take part in this as a participant. i thought it was really fun, and it even raised the heart rate by having us do juimping jacks in between each beat. I think this could be a fun way for students to experience different activities in the gymnasium.

Parking at Slippery Rock

As an off campus resident, I believe that parking is a major issue on this campus. It is hard to get a parking spot right in the middle of the day and still make it for class. I think that they need to make more commuter lots, or just have students who do not live near the campus get first parking opportunities. If students live in campus side, or south rock on Keister, they should have to walk to class because they take up all of the parking spots 100 feet away from their apartment. It will give students who live at the Heights, and other places not near campus to be able to come to class and actually get there on time.
